We work in teams when a cleaning will be more than 4 hrs; otherwise, one technician will clean your home.
Because we clean Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most of our customers aren't home but the vast majority trust Better Life Maid Service with a key to their home. For additional security, all house keys are locked in a safe and not given to tech until the day of job and returned right after.
Others leave us a key in a safe place each visit. Alarm systems can either be left off or you can give us entry/exit codes. By far the most efficient and problem-free way for everyone is for you to give us a key and alarm codes.
At Better Life Maid we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your cleaning for any reason, contact us within 24 hours of service, and we will return the next day at our expense to meet with you, receive your instructions, and correct the problem. If you are still not satisfied with our service, we will refund your money.
Professional house cleaners work extremely hard. Their job is physically demanding. There's no better way to say thank you for hard work than a tip. While it's customary to tip a food server 15% - 20% of the total bill, the average tip for a professional house cleaner is 10% - 15%.
If you have a regular house cleaner, it's usually customary to provide a larger tip around the year-end holidays. If you choose to provide a tip, we recommend leaving the gratuity in the middle of your kitchen counter along with a note. For most house cleaners, there's nothing more rewarding than getting a thank you in the form of some extra cash. Not only do they appreciate it, it's an important part of their income and truly improves their lives.
To make our cleaning services more efficient, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys and other household items prior to our visit.
If you pick up clothing, toys, and other household items before we arrive, we can dedicate our time to cleaning rather than straightening up. Because we charge for the amount of time we spend cleaning your home, it will be more cost-effective if you do the straightening up before we arrive. Tidying the house before our arrival also prevents us from putting stray objects in the wrong location: thus you will never have to hunt for the remote control.
You may change or reschedule; however, please keep in mind that we reserve time in our day to accommodate your cleaning. There is no charge for cancellations made within 24-hour's notice on business days (M-F, 8am-5pm); however, we charge a $40.00 fee for cancellations made with less than 24-hour's notice. Please note, Monday clients are required to cancel by 3:00pm on the preceding Friday.
Nothing. Our cleaning technicians work safely around house pets and all our cleaning solutions are non-toxic and harmless. However, if you would like to give us specific instructions regarding your pet, please contact us.
For sanitary and safety reasons our teams are not permitted to clean flea infested homes or pick up animal excrement. Please leave instructions with the office in advance as to how you wish your pet(s) to be handled. If you have a pet that is questionable around non-family members, we ask that the pet be in a kennel, outside, or in a room that is not to be cleaned.
Every cleaning is as unique as the homeowner. We base your price on many factors and review them with you when we initially visit your home for your quote, after which we will give you a written detailed cleaning program and price that is customized for your home.
